CAD Electrical Designer in Auckland

Due to logistics and business expansion, our customer is looking to bring onboard a new Electrical Designer. We are looking for someone responsible for the engineering of custom DC power and battery charger system solutions to enable the production of these systems in the factory.

The main duty involves translating the sales proposal, once an order is received, into a system design with engineering 2D CAD drawings and documentation for the factory.

The CAD drawings can include system schematic, wiring diagrams, system general assembly drawings, parts lists, bill of materials and various other drawings showing panel or labeling detail of the system. The design must comply with NZ electrical installation standards AS/NZS 3000.

Other duties include (but not limited to):

• Creating and compiling system manuals that include detailed technical specifications, system drawings and components datasheet
• Assist with Development projects and tenders
• Provide technical assistance to factory staff
• Liaising with sales team and factory/production stuff

In order to be successful for the role, key attributes include:

• Background in electrical/electronics/mechatronics engineering.
• Expertise in power systems, AC/DC supplies, battery chargers, UPS inverters, power distribution systems or batteries.
• Expertise using CAD or related software for electrical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
