Automation Engineer (Food Plant)

Welcome to a savoury opportunity! Our customer is a bustling Auckland fast food plant where precision meets culinary artistry. As an Automation Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in perfecting the art of food production by making internal manufacturing processes more efficient in terms of cost and time.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team of three automation engineers, working under the guidance of the esteemed Production Manager. Your expertise in PLC, SCADA and HMI design will contribute to crafting our top edge products.

Responsibilities and duties

Duties for the role include:

Oversee the integration of PLCs, SCADA and HMI systems for seamless manufacturing operations.
Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize automation processes.
Engage in innovative problem – solving to address challenges in the production line.
Implement systems for real-time performance monitoring of the production equipment.
Contribute to the training and development of junior automation team members
Craft documentation for knowledge transfering to prospect new team members.

Skills and experience

In order to be successful, you may need:

Automation / electrical / electronics major qualification or related degree.
Proven experience with PLC (specially Allen Bradley), and SCADA/HIM design.
Previous experience as ‘internal’ Automation engineer working for a FCMG manufacturing plant.
CMSE is preferred but not a must
Familiarity with safety standards in food production.
