Project Technician in Melbourne

Job description

Our customer is an international developer of Wireless/RFID sensor technology designed to improve the operational processes and security of personnel in harsh environments. They focus on a number of sectors, including automotive, transportation, logistics, oil, gas, mining, marine and ports.

The company’s technology identifies, measure, track and trace assets and people across the value chain, delivering actionable information through the cloud, enabling clients to manage industrial processes and safeguard employees lives.

We are in the search for two (2) Project/Commissioning engineers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be working with cutting-edge IoT hardware and will be responsible for planning, installing, commissioning and maintaining RFID systems across all of our solutions, specially for marine and ports in our domestic and international portfolio.

The role is based in Melbourne, with a hybrid structure, couple of days in the office, a few days at home and onsite/remote customer support. The role involves national and international travel; and as a company, our customer tries to secure work/life balance for their employees by limiting the amount of international travel per year.

Domestic portfolio includes projects all across Australia and NZ, and international projects may include Middle East, North Africa, South East Asia or Europe.

Responsibilities and duties

Onsite technology installation, deployment and commissioning
Manage contractors and labour hired onsite.
Support customers remotely using in-house developed tools.
Communicate and plan accordingly with all stake holders.

Skills and experience

Experience with electronics installation including use of power/hand tools, running cables, reading electrical schematics etc
Experience dealing with contractors and manage personnel.
Ability to communicate clear and effectively
Competent IT skills for full remote support
