As part of continuous and stable growth, we are in the process of attracting a curious and attention-to-detail Product Validation Technician to conduct operational and mechanical tests to ensure  high quality marine technology.

The ideal candidate will need to gain a thorough understanding of both internal and international compliance standards and will be responsible for coordinating testing for each product in accordance with its specifications.

In addition to generating comprehensive test reports, you will also be expected to communicate with R&D engineering teams regarding testing requirements, scheduling, and test results in order to help identify and address any bugs or improve product design, throughout this process will gain deep insights into the latest technology available.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Conduct product validation testing, which includes various types of environmental testing such as temperature cycling, water ingress, vibration, thumping, and more. Conduct reliability testing as well.
  • Precisely document the test results and generate comprehensive test report and Effectively communicate the test results to other design engineers, and flag any issues that are identified during the testing process.
  • Collaborate with different R&D departments to ensure that testing runs smoothly.
  • Coordinate testing at external laboratories as necessary.
  • Develop verification test plans and testing methodologies.
  • Maintain the lab’s test equipment and tools, which include environmental chambers, vibration/thumper equipment, and data acquisition equipment.
  • Monitor lab activity and functions, such as high-pressure air, water quality, and drains.
  • Create jigs and interfaces for testing purposes.
  • Procure test samples, consumables, parts, and test equipment as required.

Skills and experience

  • Relevant experience (and strong passion) in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or Production engineering.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage busy workloads.

 

Ideal to have:

  • Experience with lab environment and test & measurement automation.
  • Labview, Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
  • Experience in the marine electronics industries.
