Our customer is an industry leader in Nurse-Call and Emergency-Call solutions for leading retirement village providers, hospitals and aged care facilities. With over 30 years and more than 1,000 systems throughout Australia and NZ, our customer is an innovative company with a commitment to continual product improvement and visionary development that impact the lives of thousands.
Currently, our customer is looking to attract a visionary embedded software engineer to work along a hardware engineer during the whole product development cycle from concept design, prototyping, detailed design, product testing and manufacturing improvements.
Key responsibilities for this role may include:
– Provide leadership in embedded development by participating in the design, architecture and development of products and solutions.
– Work on applications using different MCU architectures.
– Assist the production team.
– Develop firmware according to the specs when best practices meet solution cost.
– Document bugs fixed, firmware change and new features.
Ideal attributes for this role:
– Bachelors degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer or related area.
– Proficient in Embedded C software development. Ideally 5 years or more.
– Proficient in RTOS.
– Experience with low power design projects.
– Experience with communication protocols (UART, RS232, RS485, IP or related)
– Experience with RF protocols is highly desired.
– Experience in different MCU architectures (8, 16, 32 bit, MSP430, ARM).
– Knowledge in hardware design – e.g: RF technologies.
– Understanding of PCB design.
– Knowledge of embedded linux platform.
– Proficient with development environments: TI code composer, MPLab, STM32CubeIDE, VSCode.
– Knowledge of Docker/REST API/ MQTT
