Electrical Production Technician in Auckland

Job description

Due to logistics and business expansion, our customer is looking to bring onboard a new Electrical Production Technician. We are looking for someone capable to work in the production line to build and assemble power racks and cabinets, along with specialised electrical equipment such as AC/DC power supplies, battery chargers, UPS, inverters, power distribution systems, batteries, among others.

Our customer is a multinational expert in providing power conversion solutions for industrial and commercial environments. They have been in business for over 35 years and their solutions include in-house AC and DC products designed and manufactured from their ISO9001 accredited facility and a wide range of industry leading products from global supply partners.

Existing production technicians that have been doing this job for sometime have already moved up the ladder to achieve design engineer and project manager status; meaning that plenty of career progression is available for hard working individuals, who are capable to understand the technicalities of the products and digest the internal procedures of the company.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Correctly take engineering drawings and diagrams and create a working product that operates within specification, exceeds minimum company standards, and uses approved products.
  • Specialised assembly of custom power cabinets  in accordance with the latest revisions of drawings and correct component installation methods.
  • Report any noticeable errors or ambiguities on engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Picking parts required for an assembly job and reporting any anomalies between engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Report on any potential or actual shortage of parts.

Skills and experience

Ideal attributes to have:

  • Electro-mechanically minded expertise through previous experience. Background in electrical equipment such as power cabinets, AC/DC power supplies, battery chargers, UPS, inverters, power distribution systems or batteries, it is highly desired but not compulsory.
  • Qualifications in electronics/electrical/mechanical fields.
  • Experience using workshop tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills
  • Expertise in electrical applications (DC, AC) – desired.
  • Able to accurately read and understand electrical schematicdiagrams.
