Job description

Our customer is a multinational expert in providing power conversion solutions for industrial and commercial environments. They have been in business for over 35 years, and their solutions include in-house AC and DC products, designed and manufactured from their ISO9001 accredited facility, and a wide range of industry-leading products from global supply partners.

Due to business expansion, we are in the process of attracting a dedicated and passionate Applications Engineer for our Sydney branch located in Rydalmere. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Sales Team in the development of tailor-made solutions for potential and existing customers in industries such as Oil and Gas, FCMG, packaging, chemicals, healthcare and IT/Datacenter.

The product suite includes AC/DC power supplies, battery chargers, UPS, Inverters, PF correction systems, DC/DC converters, Batteries, DC electronic loads, programmable AC power supplies and remote battery monitoring systems, among others.

This position will actively contribute to the overall sales turnover in Australia by supporting the sales team and providing training for internal and external stakeholders in the product range.

Responsibilities and duties

Understand customer needs and leverage our product engineering and resources to facilitate solutions that bring value to our customers. Do so by applying technical knowledge to influence designs.
Assisting the sales team in major technical quotes and specifications including tender support.
Organise product demo and technical workshops with labs to audiences.
Liaise with R&D and production regarding product development and quality assessment.
Site support for external customers, including testing and commissioning.

Skills and experience

Degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or related
Strong technical background in power electronics.
Experience and the ability to understand and self-train in all aspects of electrical power equipment.
Previous sales/business development exposure.
Ability to build and maintain good relationships/network with established and potential new customers.
